Stewardship Message for Nov 12

By now, everyone should have received an email regarding St Andrew’s Stewardship campaign for 2020-2021.  With the covid pandemic expected to be here for at least several more months, planning has become more difficult than normal.

While the church continues to operate smoothly under this strange and different situation, with limited in person attendance, our financial giving this year has fallen. To the end of October our revenues were about $20,000 below budget, however our expenses have been about $30,000 lower than planned.  (From April to August our expected operating costs were reduced, thanks to significant contributions by the Diocese, in reduced clergy salary and assessment costs).  As of September 1, we were responsible for meeting all our operating expenses going forward.  To help, we did have a successful Halloween basket fundraiser bringing in over $1600.  We are planning another similar event around Christmas.

The first goal of this Stewardship campaign is to ensure that we continue to receive the revenues necessary to sustain church operations and repay our debts.   For our revenues to match our expenses through the last 4 months of 2020, we are looking for $30,000 in contributions before year end.

Please take the time to consider how you can help and remember to print and complete the pledge form and either drop it off or mail it to the church on or before Sunday November 29, 2020.

If you wish to complete the form on line and email it to the Envelope Secretary, Carl Markwart at markwartfam@telus.net that would also be fine.

This year in particular, your completion of the pledge form will be of significant help to us as we develop our plans for 2021.

(Remember, a pledge is a statement of your intentions. We recognize that circumstances can change, and you can adjust your donations (upwards or downwards) if your financial situation changes.)

PWRDF Advent Calendar

From our homes to your home

 Dear PWRDF friend and supporter,

This year Advent and Christmas promise to be unusual, so we at PWRDF challenged ourselves to think a little outside the box. This year's annual Advent resource is reminiscent of an Advent calendar.
We will count down the days until Christmas, opening a window to PWRDF's work each day. An At-Home Advent won't feature daily chocolate (feel free to bring you own!), but will feature a daily home-made video message from a PWRDF staffer or volunteer, accompanied by a scripture passage and prayer. When you subscribe, you will receive an email every day of Advent with a story of how PWRDF has shaped each of us in different ways.
As you celebrate the season – some of you at home and some of you in your churches – we invite you to make PWRDF part of your Advent prayers, too.

If you wish to continue to donate to St. Andrew’s during this time, you can do so utilizing our PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit) option. Once a month, on or after the 12th, we submit to RBC our PAD file to automatically debit from your bank account. If the 12th falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, we process the file the next bank business day. To begin this process, call Carl Markwart at 604-575-3068 to provide your name and banking information. Three bank details are needed (usually taken from the bottom of a void cheque) – your bank’s transit number, bank number and your personal bank account number.

Alternatively, you can drop off your weekly envelopes through the church’s mail slot or mail your donation to St. Andrew’s 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley City BC V3A 7P8.

There is also the option of e-transfer. You can just send it to the church’s email,  standrewslangley@shaw.ca, and it will be sent to our Treasurer.

Please keep checking in on each other!
