Warden's Update: Renovation Project June 2022

Help Needed

We need help this Saturday June 18 at 9:00 am to move the pews and furniture to the other side of the sanctuary. If you can help and/or can persuade someone else to come down to the church, that would be great.  It shouldn’t take more than 1 hour of your time.

St Andrew’s ‘Café Church’, Spring/Summer 2022

Beginning on Sunday May 15th, the St Andrew’s congregation will move from worshipping in the church Sanctuary to worshipping in the church hall to give us time to prepare the Sanctuary for upcoming renovations. This change will last for up to 12 weeks until the end of July (or until the renovations to the Sanctuary are completed).

For Café Church, we will leave the hall set up as it is for coffee time and will add more chairs if that becomes necessary. We will move a lot of the Sound equipment (including the computers for Zoom) into the hall but will pack the projectors away and use TV monitors to display the service. The regular service bulletin will also be available. We will also move the small credence table (which we will use as the altar), the lectern, and the wooden music stand to the hall. The electric piano is already there. All these items will be stored in the little storage room in the hallway during the week so as to not interfere with regularly scheduled programming.

The current tentative schedule for renovation is as follows:

  • May 14 – removal of the altar platform

  • Late May – tidying and organizing all our stuff so that renovations can proceed

  • Early June – electrical work to prepare for floor polishing

  • Early to mid-June – floor polishing

  • Late June / early July – painting

  • Late June / early July – electrical work related to the lighting and AV set up

  • Early to mid-July – we move back into our newly renovated Sanctuary

A note from Bishop John Stephens regarding the episcopal election in the Northern Philippines.

Dear Friends in Christ,

I have recently learned the outcome of the episcopal election held on June 14 in the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines, companion diocese to our Diocese of New Westminster. It is with great joy and much happiness that I congratulate EDNP on the election of the Reverend Benny Lang-akan as Diocesan Bishop and I send my best wishes on behalf of myself and the diocese to Bishop-Elect Lang-akan.

Alleluia! The Holy Spirit is present in EDNP.
