The Feast of the Reign of Christ is the Last Sunday of the Church year. It is a time of endings, and a time to look forward to new beginnings. We also use this time to reflect on what it means to be subject to God and to Jesus rather than subject to the powers and authorities of this world. How do we behave if we imagine that Jesus is the one leading us? What issues become important, and what things can we leave behind?

At St Andrew’s, we are using this time to prepare ourselves for the New Year. Stuart & Cathy have prepared a stewardship plan for the coming year, and I invite to read through it carefully. Spend some time thinking about what you would like to see happen here at the church in the coming year, and then let me know your thoughts!

Spiritual Practice Retreat: Cancelled

November 25th, 2pm-4:30

Just a short note that we have decided to cancel our Advent Retreat this year. I only have one person signed up in the book, and a couple of others who usually come to these retreats have let me know that they can’t make it this time.

This will be the last time one of these Saturday retreats will be offered at St Andrew’s. Going forward, you are all invited to join the Tuesday night Bible Study which will begin again on Tuesday, January 9th at 7pm on Zoom. The Zoom link is the same one as for the Sunday morning services!

Welcome back to the Orpheus Choir!

As part of our contribution to this event, we are creating baskets and other prizes to be part of a SILENT AUCTION. If you have anything you would like to contribute to this, or if you know OF a store or a vendor who might be willing to donate, please be in touch with Cathy Barnes.

Care Home Ministry

We will visit Harrison Landing at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, December 13th. Please note the time is 2:30 rather than 2pm.

We will visit Harrison Pointe at 2pm on Thursday, December 21st.

For both of these December services, it would be great to have some strong singers join us to help with the Christmas Caroling!

Christmas Services

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year! On Sunday December 24, we will have the regular 8am and 10am services, and then a special Christmas Eve Eucharist at 7pm. Then on Monday, December 25th, we’ll celebrate Christmas Day at 10am.

The following Sunday is December 31, New Year’s Eve. Because so many people will be away, we will cancel the regular Sunday services at St Andrew’s and invite you to join in at either the parish of St George, Fort Langley, or the parish of St Dunstan in Aldergrove. More information about service times will be forthcoming.

If you have any questions about this, please connect with the office.

As always, please let me know if you or anyone you know would like a visit from the clergy!

Love from,

Andrew
