Newsletter: Getting prepared for Advent & Christmas

Dear friends,

This Sunday, November 13, will be Remembrance Sunday and we will commemorate all the faithful departed. Click the button above this message to be taken to all the links for Sunday worship.

As well, moving through November, we are starting to look forward to Advent & Christmas. Below, you will find all kinds of information about what is happening at St Andrew’s through the upcoming season. This will be posted on the webpage as well, so be sure to check out www.standrewslangley.ca to stay up to date. Or connect on Facebook or Instagram. Those links are at the bottom of this newsletter.

Lorie and I are both available to anyone who would like to check in or have a visit. You can call or email the office and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We’d love to hear from you!

May God keep you and your loved ones safe and warm as the days get colder and the nights get longer!

Love from,

Andrew

Welcome to our Advent PWRDF Outreach for 2022!

This year we are focusing on food security, global & local.

In the PWRDF’s “World of Gifts” brochure, you will see that “Feeding the Multitudes” is the over-riding theme. PWRDF’s membership in the Canadian Foodgrains Bank also helps our donations go further, especially when they are matched 4:1 by the government of Canada.

But alongside the global food crisis affecting so many people, is the increasing food insecurity faced by many of our neighbours here in Langley. That is why, this Advent, we are supporting the local Sources Foodbank. Our thinking may be global, but our actions are definitely local.

In each of the four weeks of Advent there will be a list from the Foodbank of suggested items they really need, which we can bring to church to fill our baskets to overflowing. Cash is also a very useful gift to the Foodbank!

Please give as generously as you have in the past in support of this local need, and if possible, donate to PWRDF for the overwhelming global need as well.

For more information, please contact Heather Clarke, Parish PWRDF Rep or Bev Saumier, Parish Liaison with Sources Foodbank.

Tuesday Bible Study & Thursday Eucharist

The last Tuesday bible study of the season will be on November 22. We will resume on January 10, 2023.

The last Thursday Eucharist of the season will be on November 24. We will resume in the new year on a date to be determined.
