Covid-19 Pandemic

Please see the Diocesan website for the most recent correspondence from the Archbishop regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic: https://www.vancouver.anglican.ca/

St. Andrew’s Office

The office is closed, and we are suspending the use of the building for Sunday church services, activities, groups, events and rentals. The office staff are working from home so please email standrewslangley@shaw.ca, instead of phoning for church business as the phone will only be checked occasionally.

Note:  Joanie’s work hours have changed - they are now Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9am to 2pm.

Please continue to check in with one another over this time, especially with those who you know don't use email. If necessary, call Andrew’s cell at 778-999-9153.

Financial Update

May Update on Finances – Thank-you to everyone who continued to support St. Andrew’s through the month of May.  Revenues were down but we did receive $8,200 in donations plus $1,600 in rent from the Daycare.   We ended the month with $70,066 in the bank.  May expenses were reduced as the Diocese again paid all clergy expenses and has cancelled the monthly assessment payments through August.

Please continue to support St Andrew’s through your regular giving.  You can automatically pay monthly with PAD, use e-transfer, mail or drop off your donation to the church anytime.  (We only count and put cheques into the bank once at the end of each month, to minimize the need for our counters to come to the church.)   In June, our expenses will increase significantly, as we will be back to paying our full clergy costs.

If you wish to continue to donate to St. Andrew’s during this time, you can do so utilizing our PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit) option. Once a month, on or after the 12th, we submit to RBC our PAD file to automatically debit from your bank account. If the 12th falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, we process the file the next bank business day. To begin this process, call Carl Markwart at 604-575-3068 to provide your name and banking information. Three bank details are needed (usually taken from the bottom of a void cheque) – your bank’s transit number, bank number and your personal bank account number.

Alternatively, you can drop off your weekly envelopes through the church’s mail slot or mail your donation to St. Andrew’s 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley City BC V3A 7P8.

There is also the option of e-transfer. You can just send it to the church’s email,  standrewslangley@shaw.ca, and it will be sent to our Treasurer.

If you have a story to share, or want to let us know how you are faring in isolation, please email Joanie or phone Andrew.

Here are couple of quotes from Henri Nouwen that resonated with me this week…

“Hope means to keep living amid desperation and to keep humming in the darkness.”

“Did I offer peace today?  Did I bring a smile to someone’s face?  Did I say words of healing?  Did I let go of my anger and resentment?  Did I forgive?  Did I love?  These are the real questions.”

Please keep checking in on each other!
