The Rev. Helen Tervo
The Rev. Helen Lingham
Helen Tervo has been a priest in the Diocese of New Westminster for 14 years. Before that, she called Saskatchewan home. For 12 years, she was Chaplain for Corrections Services Canada, working at Pacific Institution in Abbotsford. She has a great interest in worship, spiritual practices, pastoral care and parish development. She and her husband Joe live in Abbotsford. They have 3 grown daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren. (She has pictures!) When she is not working in church matters, she loves to sew and quilt and read. Her addiction to Facebook continues unabated.
Helen is the Deacon at St. Andrew's, ordained in June, 2015. She has been a part of the St. Andrew's community since 1998. Helen's area of service in the community is organizational and leadership development, primarily in healthcare. She assists the rector in Sunday services, takes her turn at preaching, and participates in the parish's social and missional life with many gifts of hospitality.
Joanie has been the Office Administrator for St. Andrews since mid 2013. She handles event booking, church organization and is an active member of the parish. She always welcomes new comers to the church with a smile. Joanie and her family have been members of St. Andrews since 1992
