Upcoming Events

  • Tickets are available for the Dessert Social and Vaudeville Show on Saturday, October 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Price of admission is $20 and tickets can be purchased through the church office.

A Note from our Deacon

I recently met Rev. Stephen Laskey, from St. Helen's, Surrey when I was deaconing at their annual service and picnic.  Stephen has been baking communion bread for years for the service and, when I tasted it, I thought it was delicious!  He sent me the recipe so Amanda and I have been experimenting and we tried it for the first time last Sunday.  We intend to bake it Sunday mornings and bring it to service so let us know what you think.  We are enjoying the spiritual discipline of this (as well as the taste of the bread!).

Father Stephen’s Best Ever Communion Bread

Each time I make the bread, the ingredients remind me of the way of faith. 

Milk and honey reminds me of the Land flowing with milk and honey, the land prepared by our Lord. Oil reminds me of the richness of the Lord and of the Lord’s anointing at my baptism. Salt reminds be that we are to be the salt of the earth. Flour the basic ingredient of bread and how our Lord is the bread of life.  Baking powder reminds me that we are to be leaven.
